A Breakthrough of X-Ray Course Under Radiology Paramedical Program

A job of an X-ray technologists is to create images of anomalies in patients’ bone, organs or soft tissue in order to help doctors, radiologists, physicians to evaluate health conditions. The health problems can be a fractured bone or tumor or lung infections which is the most common symptoms of chest x-ray also known as CXR PA.

History of X-Ray Discovery

X-ray was first discovered by Sir Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen on 8th of November 1895 that led to the whole of what is known today as Radiology department under medical disciplinary. Radiology is involved in medical and paramedical discipline which is also famously referred to as allied healthcare professional.

There is no such course as X-Ray course to be clear, X-Ray is a department or category of imaging technology that comes as a part of Radiology and Imaging Technology course program or also referred to as Medical Imaging Technology.

To be able to work and carry out procedures through x-ray imaging modality, one must pursue a certificate, diploma or a degree study in the program called Radiology and Imaging Technology or Medical Imaging Technology or Radiation technology etc., but again there is no such course as x-ray course. The job of an X-RAY technologist fulfills the role within the whole of radiographic technology department. There are also countries where there is an acceptance of LMRT which is for Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist, a type of certificate program that offers training and education in only one specific imaging modality that can put a limit to only that type of radiographic modality. But if a candidate wants to expand their horizon on all types of radiological modality, they must pursue their academics in either diploma or degree programs under radiology and imaging technology. One can even go forward in M.Sc. and after which can even get into research studies and become a PhD. doctor. The diploma and degree will consists of course works that cover CT scan, MRI, and a little bit of Nuclear Medicine as well.

Steps on how you can become an X-ray Tech

  • STEP 1: The first and foremost necessary step is to acquire a certificate or a degree under Radiology and Imaging Technology in a Paramedical discipline. It can be of great help if the candidate can learn about the human anatomy before starting any of the course programs.
  • STEP 2: The choice to pursue any of these available programs should depend on career goals and availability of time and most importantly cost. If there seems to be any restriction on any one of these cases, the best option can be certificate course of one year which is available in Ganesh Paramedical College which can allow an individual to directly jump into the job market in a faster pace.
  • STEP 3: Certification course can provide job in processing and handling imaging modalities such as X-rays, mobile x-rays, mammography and bone density or DEXA scan and also OPG or dental scan.
  • STEP 4: Diploma certificate and degree graduation under Radiology and Imaging Technology or Medical Imaging Technology can expand job options like CT, MRI, and Nuclear Medicine etc.

Conclusion

The curriculum of course work includes human anatomy, patient care and communication computer skills etc., the total time to complete this course of interest is one year, two years and three years depending upon which program is selected. There is facility for online classes in Ganesh Paramedical College in Delhi but clinical training has to be done in person. Our Ganesh Paramedical College is NABH, NAAC, NABL approved which can be a strong indicator that a student is in a very safe and disciplined program. The work in medical area requires a lot of empathy and compassion and the very course program of Radiology and Imaging Technology requires all soft skills and hard skills from explaining procedures to the ailing patients to carrying out procedures in big bulky machineries. Therefore a student or candidate interested in this kind of paramedical discipline must have all of the qualities or in simple manner, must be very compassionate towards people especially ailing patients.
